Just Words? You Say Efficacy, And I Say Effectiveness - Pharmalot

Pharmalot did a piece recently on our study about the use of the terms "Efficacy" and "Effectiveness" when making reimbursement decisions. Our study focused on the differences in the terms and how they are often used interchangably in the industry. Efficacy is used to describe how a drug performs in an ideal or controlled setting. Effectiveness is used to describe drugs in real-world circumstances.
